Help Us Help Our Community

Every dollar donated to Delhi Center goes back to the community. Donations help us serve our clients, many of whom are low income.  In fact, approximately 52% of Delhi clients served in 2016 have a median household income of $25,000 or less as compared to the citywide median household income of $54,521.  Our client demographics further indicate that approximately 87% are Hispanic as compared to the citywide rate of 78.2%; 64% of all households served include 5 or more persons; and over 25% of children served live with only one parent or grandparent.

Clearly, financial stability is a big issue in our community. We are happy to report that we have made a positive impact on that problem. In 2016, nearly 1,400 individuals received financial education workshops that helped them understand and improve their financial status. Approximately 170 clients were assisted with lowering their utility and phone bills and resolving disputes with their bills. A total of 68 clients were served with intensive Financial Stability Case Management services, 71% of whom opened a savings account for a cumulative savings of $223,928, 66% improved their credit scores by an average of 8.32%, and 54% decreased their debt by a cumulative total of $562,737. This is just one of the ways we help our community thrive.

We invite you to join us in improving the quality of life in Santa Ana!

Volunteering is a great way to give back! As a Delhi Center Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to build and grow our community. In 2016 we had help from a total of 162 volunteers who contributed almost 8,000 hours of service. Without the help of volunteers we could not operate successfully.

Please review the opportunities listed below and contact us for more information.

Zocalo Fundraising Committee:  Our annual Zocalo Fiesta is a fun-filled evening of music, great food, camaraderie, door prizes, lotería, and so much more.  We are seeking committee members to help us plan this exciting event that benefits our youth programs.

Social Media Marketing: This is a great opportunity for someone who has social media and/or marketing skills to help us keep up our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and website.  This would make a great school/college or portfolio/resume project!

Building Maintenance and Custodian Assistance: Delhi Center is a very large facility with a need for constant upkeep and maintenance.  We have many projects for the handy man or woman in you to help us keep our center clean and inviting for all of the community to enjoy.
